Questions We Get Asked

Straight answers before you call. If yours isn't here, ask us on the phone and we'll tell you exactly where you stand.

Do you take small jobs?
Yes. Cleanouts, debris removal and disposal, and single-room interior demo are some of the work we do most. There is no job too small, and small jobs get the same permit handling and site cleanup as a full teardown.
How soon can you start?
Usually within a week. If your job needs a city permit, we handle the paperwork and start as soon as it is issued.
How long does a small job take?
Most small jobs, like office clear-outs and post-construction debris removal, take two to three days once we are on site. Larger demolition depends on the structure.
Do you handle asbestos?
No. Cramer Demolition does not perform asbestos abatement. If a survey identifies asbestos on your project, a licensed abatement contractor removes it first, and we begin once the site is cleared. We will tell you up front if we think a survey is needed.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, fully licensed and insured. A Certificate of Insurance is available on request, and we are happy to send it to you or directly to your general contractor or property manager before work starts.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. Permit drawings, city submissions, inspections, meetings, and scheduling are all part of the job. You do not chase paperwork or sit through inspections. That is what fully managed means. When a general contractor hires us, we pull the demolition permit.
Who shuts off the utilities?
You do. Gas, water, and electric have to be disconnected by your utility companies before demolition starts, and they can need some lead time, so it is worth calling them early. We take care of the permits and start once the utilities are off.
Is an engineer involved on every job?
Yes. Every project is reviewed by P.E. James Cramer, a licensed structural engineer, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical accuracy. Most demolition crews do not have that on staff.
What determines the cost of a demolition job?
Every job prices differently, so we quote rather than publish a rate. The main factors are the size and type of the structure, how easily equipment can reach the site, how much material has to be hauled off and disposed of, which permits and inspections your city requires, and whether an asbestos survey is needed first. Estimates are free and we get a clear quote back to you within 24 hours.
Does your quote include hauling and disposal?
Yes. Hauling and disposal are included in your quote. They are not a separate charge added when the crew shows up.
